KCMG will be in Suzuka on March 4-5 for the pre-season testing of Super Formula. The Hong Kong-based motorsport team has also confirmed that Richard Bradley will represent KCMG in its 2013 campaign.
The 21 year old British driver started racing karts in 2000 and enjoyed a thriving career in Europe. He competed in championships such as MSA British Kart Championship, where he became the youngest winner at age 15, and was champion in the 2008 season of KF1 British Open. In 2008 and 2009, he competed in the FIA-sanctioned CIK World Cup in Suzuka and continued to pursue a flourishing racing career in Asia.
Bradley became Formula BMW Pacific champion in 2010 and has set the official fastest time recorded in Sepang at the 2010 PETRONAS Malaysian Grand Prix support race. In 2011and 2012, he competed in Japanese Formula 3 with Petronas Team Tom’s.
This year, Bradley once again takes a big leap as he advances to Super Formula with KCMG. He states, “I’m very happy to be joining KCMG for the 2013 Super Formula series. Whilst this is a big step up and I’m under no illusions how hard it will be. I am confident that working with the team, I will be able to adapt to Super Formula and be in a position to have some good results this season and can’t wait for it to begin!”
KCMG Japan General Manager Ryuji Doi said the team had recognized Bradley’s potential since his early races in Japanese Formula 3. He also adds that the team is delighted to have Richard as KCMG’s new driver in the highly competitive series. “We are pleased to be back in one of Japan’s most prestigious championships this year. Last season was quite challenging but the team is already anticipating a successful and progressive year with Richard. We are looking forward to working with him. Our aim is to be constantly present on the podium and I believe that we can achieve this goal with hard work and continuous development on the car.”
It will be Bradley’s first time to sample KCMG’s Toyota powered Swift FN09 in March. More updates about KCMG’s 2013 Super Formula campaign will be released on the website soon.
