KC Motorgroup Ltd. (KCMG) has confirmed a two-car entry in the newly established FIA Japanese Formula 4 Championship. In line with this, the Hong Kong-based squad announced that Formula Toyota Racing School-backed driver Yuki Nemoto will represent the team in Japan’s latest entry-level Formula series. The Japanese driver will compete in the championship’s inaugural season, which will comprise of seven events to be held in six different circuits across the country.
The 18-year-old driver delved into racing karts at the age of five and won championships in the TIA class of Tokyo Kids Grand Prix and Oimatsuda Challenge. The Japanese driver also took part in JAF’s Junior East Series, All Japan Kart Championship, Asia Pacific KF2 Championship and All China Tournament Junior Class, where he clinched an impressive number of podiums. In 2013, Nemoto made his single seater debut in S-FJ and Formula Challenge Japan and went on to race in the FC Class of Japan F4 last year.
This season, Nemoto looks forward to racing with KCMG in the new Japanese championship. The series utilizes a Toyota powered F4 Dome car, which presents a cost efficient platform for competitive racing.
