KCMG has confirmed that Japanese Karting Champion, Yuta Shiraishi will compete in Formula Pilota’s 4th event at Guangdong International Circuit alongside Dan Wells this weekend.
The 15 year old rookie’s passion for motorsport was initially sparked by his father back in 2007. Shiraishi managed his time between studies, practicing and competing in local races during weekends to build an excellent track record. In 2008, he won the Mobara West Cup- his first karting competition.
Shiraishi participated in the 2010 season of All Japan Race and won the Motegi Kart Race in Twin Ring Motegi the same year. Prior to competing in Formula Pilota, he has also started to participate in international races around Japan and Europe.
Shiraishi is looking forward to his maiden Formula Pilota outing. He states, “I’m eager to join my first car race after a positive first test with KCMG for Formula Pilota last week and the numerous car testing that we did in Europe. I’ll still be participating in the remaining kart races this year and will be aiming for championships in Europe and Japan, but it’s also great to be moving up to the higher rungs of motorsport with a great team.”
KCMG Managing Director Paul Ip is pleased to have the young Japanese driver represent KCMG in Guangdong, “We are happy to have Yuta race for us in Formula Pilota. It is a big advantage for the team to have two drivers in Guangdong and we look forward to fighting at the front.”
