Pablo Sarrazin is set to make his single-seater racing debut this weekend at Circuit Paul Armagnac in Nogaro, as the 2022 French F4 Championship gets underway.
Announced recently as a member of the KCMG Driver Development Project, 16-year-old Sarrazin has completed two days of testing in the F4 car at the Bugatti Circuit in Le Mans ahead of the season opener on 16-18 April.
The French youngster will be supported by KCMG-DDP Driver Coach Edo Liberati and will race in the #4 machine in the new-for-2022 Mygale M21-F4. The new car topped the previous F4 lap record by 2.5 seconds when it was tested last year at Circuit Paul Ricard.
The season spans seven rounds, with five of them taking place in France, with the series also visiting the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium and the Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia, Spain.
KCMG already has history with the Sarrazin family, having supported Pablo’s father Stéphane in the World Rally Championship between 2015 and 2020.
PABLO SARRAZIN
“I’m really excited to take on my first race weekend in single seaters. It will be a big challenge, but we’ve had two good days of testing and Edo has been helpful and supportive, so I feel ready to go. My aim this weekend is to continue learning, work hard and show strong pace, and then hopefully the results will follow. Thanks to KCMG for their belief in me, I can’t wait to kick off our campaign in Nogaro!”
EDO LIBERATI KCMG-DDP DRIVER COACH
“Pablo has put in a lot of effort over the winter to be ready for this season and I’m confident that he’s well prepared for his single seater debut at Nogaro. The French F4 Championship will be a good challenge for Pablo, in the last test day at Le Mans he showed good pace and strong potential, so now it’s time to get on track and race!”
PAUL IP KCMG FOUNDER
“I’m looking forward to seeing how Pablo fares this weekend at Nogaro. Moving up from karting to single seaters is a big step, but he has dealt with it well so far. French F4 is a tough championship, but we’re confident that he’ll get up to speed quickly with our support. There’s a lot of things to discover and learn this weekend, so we’re not putting any pressure on Pablo to succeed immediately in Nogaro. KCMG wants to help young drivers develop and achieve their potential so we’re all very excited for the first round of the season. Best of luck to Pablo and hopefully the team can celebrate some positive results this weekend!”
