KCMG Driver Development Project (KCMG-DDP) member Pablo Sarrazin continues his maiden French F4 campaign this weekend, as the championship visits Circuit de Pau-Ville, racing on the famously tight streets of the South-Western French city of Pau.

Sarrazin showed promising pace in the 2022 season opener at Nogaro, getting to grips with the #4 Mygale M21-F4 and improving across the weekend. The French youngster took a best finish of 12th in Race 2, putting in several great overtakes to make up seven positions.

The 16-year-old, in his debut single-seater season, will make his first appearance at the 2.769-kilometre track as racing returns to the legendary Circuit de Pau-Ville for the first time since 2019. The venue first hosted the French Grand Prix in 1930, and is famous for its twisty layout and tight walls, often being compared to the Monte Carlo street circuit.

PABLO SARRAZIN

I learned a lot on my debut at Nogaro and I’m looking forward to showing some improvements this weekend in Pau. There were plenty of positives to take from Nogaro, such as my starts and overtakes, but I’m aiming to improve my qualifying performance to give me a better chance of points. It’s great to have Edo with me, he’s a very experienced driver and he’s been helping me develop during race weekends. We’ll have to be careful at Pau, it’s a really tight track so going over the limit will most likely end in an accident. Qualifying will be very important this weekend, as it’s going to be tough to overtake on such a narrow circuit.”

EDOARDO LIBERATI KCMG-DDP DRIVER COACH

“I’ve never been to Pau, so it will be a new experience for both of us. None of the drivers on the grid have raced here, so the playing field will be more level this weekend. Qualifying will be more important here than in Nogaro, as it’s a street circuit and very difficult to overtake at Pau. We’re aiming for Pablo to qualify in the top ten, to give him the best chance to score points. We are working well together, using the videos and his onboards to analyse his strengths and where he can improve, so I’m excited to continue with Pablo over the coming weekend at Pau.”

PAUL IP KCMG FOUNDER

“Pablo had a solid single-seater debut at the first round in Nogaro, and it was great to see him progress through the field with some good overtakes. He is focused on improving his performance across the weekend and will aim to keep learning and developing as the season goes on. Since the first round, Pablo has had the opportunity to test a previous-generation F4 car, and he made progress on utilising new tyres and braking. The next round at Pau will be challenging, it’s tight and tricky, but I’m confident Pablo can put in a strong showing this weekend!”
