KC Motorgroup Ltd. (KCMG) took its second Nürburgring Langstrecken Serie (NLS) pole position in as many races last weekend as the team continued to show its pace on the fearsome Nordschleife.
With the full trio of Edoardo Liberati, Martin Rump and Josh Burdon racing together for the first time, the team were hopeful of a strong result before a technical issue forced them a lap down in the four-hour race. However, the pit crew were able to fix the problem quickly and got the car back out on track, with the drivers recovering well to finish fourth.
The Hong Kong-based team will return to the Green Hell for NLS3 on 14-15 April.
EDOARDO LIBERATI
“It’s a strong field in the SP10 class, so we did very well to take a second pole in two races. We were unfortunate in the race, but this sort of thing can happen to anyone at any time so we just have to keep working hard on every detail and hope for better next time.”
MARTIN RUMP
“Everything was going smoothly until the technical issue, but despite falling a lap down, the crew did an amazing job to get the car fixed and back out so quickly. We made the most of a difficult situation to score some points but the whole team deserves much more, so we’ll hope to put it all together next time out!”
JOSH BURDON
“Overall, it was a positive weekend on the Nordschleife for us in NLS2. In mixed conditions we gathered a lot of data to continue our preparation for the N24 and the rest of the season. The team is operating well and I’m looking forward to continuing our work during NLS3.”
MATT HOWSON TEAM MANAGER
“It was a mixed weekend for us, with pole position and a generally strong performance once again, the three drivers did a superb job in difficult conditions throughout. The result wasn’t what we wanted or deserved but we’ll continue to work hard in all areas to deliver the performances that we all know are possible.”
PAUL IP KCMG FOUNDER
“It’s clear that the potential is there and that we are very quick on the Nordschleife, but the luck hasn’t been with us this year. To take two poles in two events proves that we are extremely competitive, so it’s a shame that the race was compromised by a technical issue. Nevertheless, it’s a long season and the team managed to pick up some good points in P4, so we have to reset and look to bounce back at NLS3 later this month.”
