KCMG SET TO TAKE ON ADAC GT4 GERMANY WITH TOYOTA GAZOO RACING NEW ZEALAND

KC Motorgroup Ltd. (KCMG) is ready to return to the Nürburgring in partnership with TOYOTA GAZOO RACING New Zealand this weekend, competing in Round 4 of the ADAC GT4 Germany campaign.

Toyota 86 champions Brock Gilchrist and Rylan Gray will take to the wheel of the KCMG-run Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO on the shortened Nürburgring Sprint Circuit, measuring 3.6 kilometres. The event, which is on the support bill for the fourth round of the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters (DTM) campaign, features two hours of testing, along with a 20-minute qualifying session and a one hour mini-endurance race on both Saturday and Sunday.

KCMG has plenty of experience with the Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO on the famous German circuit this year, competing in the Nürburgring Langstrecken Serie (NLS) and taking second in class at the ADAC TotalEnergies 24h Nürburgring in May.

The duo has already been on track earlier today in the first two test sessions of the weekend. Both drivers experienced valuable time in the car, ending the morning sixth on the timesheets.

BROCK GILCHRIST

“I’m really looking forward to experiencing what it’s like to race in Europe and around one of the greatest tracks in the world. I’m still yet to drive a GT4 car. I’ve been fortunate enough to do some laps in some quicker machinery but it will be a big learning curve compared to the 86. I’ve been practising on the simulator around the Nürburgring in the GT4 car so I’m hoping that will help when we get out there for real. Overall I’m just super excited to get on track and do our best this weekend.”

RYLAN GRAY

“I’m massively excited to be heading over to Germany to race the Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO at the Nürburgring. It’s special to go overseas and compete in a new car and championship, getting to learn with KCMG which I’m sure will help me develop my career. Partnering up with Brock is also going to be awesome. Preparing for the event has been a big focus. I’ve worked hard on getting mentally and physically stronger, doing a lot of endurance training to prepare for the weekend. I’ve spent time on the simulator to get familiar with the track and how the car might perform. We can’t wait to start and will look to do the best we can.”

MATT HOWSON TEAM MANAGER

“TOYOTA GAZOO RACING New Zealand does so much to bring new talent into our sport, so it’s a privilege to be part of that next step. We’re looking forward to giving Brock and Rylan the best support possible and an opportunity to shine at the Nürburgring!”

NICOLAS CAILLOL TOYOTA GAZOO RACING NEW ZEALAND MOTORSPORT MANAGER

“It’s a big weekend and a daunting one for sure but these are two fantastically talented young racers, KCMG is a superb team and the car is potentially one of the most competitive. I think everyone at TGRNZ and all those who know the boys are really looking forward to seeing how they go.”
