KCMG SCORE POINTS IN ADAC GT4 GERMANY WITH TOYOTA GAZOO RACING NEW ZEALAND

KC Motorgroup Ltd. (KCMG) scored points on its return to the Nürburgring in partnership with TOYOTA GAZOO RACING New Zealand, with drivers Brock Gilchrist and Rylan Gray racing strongly on their European and ADAC GT4 Germany debut.

Given the chance to compete at the German track following their success in the Toyota 86 Championship, Gilchrist and Gray immediately acclimatised to their new surroundings, battling the changeable conditions throughout in the #86 Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO.

A strong qualifying effort and some penalties to other competitors saw the duo begin Race 2 in fifth, with Gray taking the first stint. After getting used to the soaking wet track, the Australian set some excellent lap times before handing over to Gilchrist. The Kiwi driver dealt with the drying surface and defended well from cars behind, securing a positive 10th-placed finish, completing a solid weekend.

MATT HOWSON TEAM MANAGER

“The whole race weekend at ADAC GT4 Germany in partnership with TOYOTA GAZOO RACING New Zealand was a special experience. Brock and Rylan were really impressive, especially when you consider they’d never raced in a GT4 car or at the Nürburgring before. They were consistently showing their excellent pace and to secure a top-10 finish in this ultra-competitive championship was a great result. This demonstrated not only the commitment and talent of both drivers, but also the high level of the Toyota GT86 Championship in New Zealand. I strongly believe that without the constantly changeable conditions, we would’ve been in podium contention. I’m looking forward to following their careers progress and hope to see them back in Europe soon!”

NICOLAS CAILLOL TOYOTA GAZOO RACING NEW ZEALAND MOTORSPORT MANAGER

“The Nürburgring did its thing and threw some very challenging conditions at us, which made it even more difficult for Brock and Rylan. Despite that, they did everything right, adapting to a new car and circuit, avoiding contact and improving every time they went on track. They worked well with the engineers and impressed the team. Their pace proved they’re capable of matching some of the best drivers in one of the world’s most competitive GT4 championships. That’s a huge reflection of their ability and we’re very proud of their achievement.”
