KC Motorgroup Ltd (KCMG) aims to finish their 2023 Super Taikyu Series campaign with a positive result at Fuji Speedway, targeting back-to-back podiums following a strong performance in Round 6 at Okayama International Circuit.
Harnessing the pace of their Honda NSX GT3 EVO, KCMG founder Paul Ip, Marchy Lee Ying-Kin and Ho-Pin Tung qualified third on the grid at Okayama last month, before converting the result into the team’s second podium finish of the year.
The Hong Kong-based squad previously competed at Fuji earlier this season in May, with the team putting in one of their strongest performances of the year, claiming a spot on the podium in the gruelling Fuji Super TEC 24 Hours.
Having proven their skill at the circuit already, the drivers will relish the opportunity to return to Fuji. The track provides a varied challenge for even the most experienced racers. Maintaining high speed through the 100R corner into a sudden braking zone at the Turn 6 hairpin will test bravery, while technical ability is crucial through the ever-tightening Turns 13-16 to get high exit speed down the 1.475-kilometre straight.
