KCMG Driver Development Project (KCMG-DDP) member Pablo Sarrazin took fifth place alongside co-driver Geoffrey Combe in the Stellantis Motorsport Rally Cup category at last weekend’s Rallye du Var on his French Rally Championship debut.
Driving the #42 Peugeot 208 Rally4, the young Frenchman showed strong pace throughout the 240-kilometre event. The asphalt terrain provided a marked challenge for Sarrazin, as well as a chance to gain valuable experience in the discipline.
Following an early setback with a stall costing him 15 seconds, Sarrazin improved consistently, setting competitive times at every stage of the rally. His performance was rewarded with a first-place finish in Special Stage 9, at Circuit du Var. After maintaining competitive speed during the following stages, the teenager finished fifth in the Stellantis Motorsport Rally Cup category contested by 11 cars, and 20th overall, in a field of 89 cars.
PABLO SARRAZIN
“It’s been a busy and intense week at the Rallye du Var, but we can come away satisfied having achieved our objective of taking a strong result while enjoying the event. I developed and strengthened my relationship with my co-driver Geoffrey Combe, and this showed with our fifth-place finish in the Stellantis Motorsport Rally Cup category. The weekend has been an incredible experience for me and I’d like to thank both KCMG and Sarrazin Motorsport for their work to give me such a great car to drive.”
GEOFFREY COMBE
“It was a great weekend, we prepared enormously as the Rallye du Var is very tough. To finish our first event in the Stellantis Motorsport Rally Cup in P5 is a fantastic achievement, and now it’s up to us to continue working hard and improving. A huge thanks to Sarrazin Motorsport and to KCMG for this opportunity and I’m looking forward to the next one!”
