PABLO SARRAZIN SHOWS PROMISING PACE AT RALLYE AVEYRON ROUERGUE – OCCITANIE

KCMG Driver Development Project (KCMG-DDP) member Pablo Sarrazin’s strong pace went unrewarded at Rallye Aveyron Rouergue – Occitanie, only dropping to second in the Stellantis Motorsport Rally Cup France standings with two rounds to go.

Sarrazin, alongside co-driver Geoffrey Combe, started the weekend well in dry and hot conditions, ending the first day second in an experienced lead group. On Day 2, rain and cool temperatures greeted the duo, who was catching the leader, before suffering an accident just after the finish line at Stage 10, causing a radiator leak that forced them to retire from the event.

Despite this, the pair would only fall narrowly behind in the Stellantis Motorsport Rally Cup France standings, as the series heads to take on the final gravel event of the season, the Rallye Terre de Lozère at the end of August.

PABLO SARRAZIN

“The pace was good throughout the event, but we made a small error which occurred in wet conditions when chasing down the leader. The team did an amazing job all weekend, and I’m sorry for our first crash of the year. We’ll analyse what went wrong to ensure we improve, and be ready to fight for this championship!”

GEOFFREY COMBE CO-DRIVER

“We were very comfortable on the opening day, showing strong pace, which carried into the early stages of Saturday. Unfortunately, we made a small mistake that stopped our rally prematurely, but we’ll learn from this. Now we look to bounce back when getting on gravel next time out, and score big points in the championship!”

PAUL IP KCMG FOUNDER

“Pablo and Geoffrey have demonstrated their ability to compete at the front of this field, as was proved by their performance on the first day. Sadly, on Saturday morning a small error led to a radiator leak which meant the pair was unable to continue. It’s all part of the learning curve, as we head into a welcome break before looking to come back stronger at Rallye Terre de Lozère at the end of next month.”
