PABLO SARRAZIN PROVES HIS SPEED DESPITE UNFORTUNATE MECHANICAL RETIREMENT AT RALLYE TERRE DE LOZÉRE

Pablo Sarrazin showed promising pace at the Rallye Terre de Lozére last weekend, but due to a mechanical issue was unable to finish the penultimate round of the Stellantis Motorsport Rally Cup France season.

Alongside co-driver Geoffrey Combe, the pair enjoyed a strong start to the event, finishing the first day locked in a tight battle, with four cars all within ten seconds of each other.

However, towards the end of the second day, they would suffer a puncture and broken steering arm, forcing them to retire from the final gravel event of the season.

The duo is next in action this weekend at Rallye Mont Blanc-Morzine which will be their first outing in a Rally2 vehicle, before finishing their Stellantis Motorsport Rally Cup France campaign at Rallye du Var (22-24 November).

PABLO SARRAZIN

“I was really pleased with the performance on the opening day which left us in a strong position for the second leg. Unfortunately, things like mechanical issues are part of the game but I think we’re able to take positives from how the rally started. We’ve got one round left in this championship and will make sure we do everything possible to achieve the best result we can. This weekend coming up is a new experience and a chance to develop my skills, so I’m looking forward to it at Rallye Mont Blanc-Morzine.”

GEOFFREY COMBE CO-DRIVER

“The pace we were showing before the retirement was very promising, so I’m happy with that. It’s unfortunate, but just something which happens in this sport. We’re already looking ahead to the Rally2 at Mont-Blanc this weekend, and I’m confident that we can have some fun and learn a lot.”

PAUL IP KCMG FOUNDER

“They were both doing a brilliant job, fighting inside the podium positions before the puncture and mechanical failure. It’s very promising to see Pablo competing at such a high level after just nine months of rallying. This weekend at Rallye Mont Blanc-Morzine will be a new challenge for the pair, but we hope that they will take a lot from the event to take forward into the final round of the Stellantis Motorsport Rally Cup France campaign.”
