KCMG Driver Development Project (KCMG-DDP) member Pablo Sarrazin picked up a Rally4 second place finish in a rain-shortened Rallye Critérium des Cévennes, to maintain his championship ambitions.
The 19-year-old, who celebrated his birthday on Saturday, had to deal with wet weather during the stages on Friday alongside co-driver Geoffrey Combe. The duo battled through these tricky conditions and were constantly improving their pace, which saw them among much faster Rally2 cars on the timesheets.
The second day would be cancelled due to the weather, meaning that Sarrazin clinched a Rally4 second place while finishing an impressive 14th overall.
The pair will be back in the Peugeot 208 Rally4 to contest the final round of the Stellantis Motorsport Rally Cup France, as well as the finale of the France Tarmac 2WD, at Rallye du Var on 22-24 November.
PABLO SARRAZIN
“It was a great weekend of action where we constantly improved throughout the event as we became more confident with the conditions. This has prepared us really well for the Stellantis Motorsport Rally Cup France finale next month, and we’ll make sure that we achieve another positive result there at Rallye du Var.”
GEOFFREY COMBE CO-DRIVER
“We improved well in the tough conditions to get up into second in the Rally4 class even with the reduced running due to bad weather. We’re already focused on the finale next month, and I want to say thanks to the team and KCMG as always for the opportunity.”
PAUL IP KCMG FOUNDER
“It was very exciting to see Pablo progressing throughout each stage of the rally, and to be showing such an excellent level of performance. Unfortunately, the weather conditions stopped Pablo from improving further on the second day, but P2 is still a great result. We’ll now focus fully on the Rallye du Var where anything is possible in the hunt for the title.”
