SGC by KCMG capped off the final event of Formula Nippon at the world-famous Suzuka Circuit last weekend, with Ryo Orime finishing both races in the 7th event of Japan’s top-level racing series. The team’s constant perseverance to achieve progress was distinct during the championship’s concluding race weekend.
During Saturday’s qualifying sessions, Orime’s determination to get proper pace was adamant. The Japanese driver started from 18th position in Races 1 and 2, which featured a sprint race of 20 laps and an endurance race of 28 laps on the 5.80km circuit. In dry conditions, Orime finished in 18th place during the first race on Sunday morning and secured 15th place during the second race later that day.
Considered as the premier racing championship in the region, Formula Nippon has been the prime breeding ground for some of the best drivers in the world. KCMG Japan General Manager Ryuji Doi states that the team is pleased to have been part of this high-level Japanese racing series and to have worked with Orime this season.
Ryuji Doi expressed his gratitude, “The team is thankful to all its supporters this year, from the sponsors to the team staff who have worked with us since the start of the 2012 campaign. I am also happy to have worked with our partners and our driver, Ryo Orime. The team is looking forward to the 2013 season with the near future target of being able to rise to the podium.”
Formula Nippon is set to hold the Fuji Sprint Cup 2012, a special post-season event on November 16-18 at Fuji Speedway.
