KCMG has officially confirmed Ronald Wu as their second driver for the upcoming season of Formula Masters China Series, which will commence on May 11 – 12, 2013 at Zhuhai International Circuit, China.
The Hong Kong Chinese rookie began karting in 2007 and tested Formula West and Formula Renault in 2009-2010. After showing remarkable potential by winning the Shanghai International Kartworld Championship in 2010, Wu competed in the All China Karting Championship last year.
Together with Malaysian driver Akash Nandy, Wu joins KCMG this season in its aggressive campaign to be one of the series’ top contenders for the championship title. Wu is looking forward to the series’ first event in May. He states, “I am delighted to be working with KCMG, one of the biggest racing teams in Asia, as it will give me a great platform to progress in motorsports. I am extremely looking forward to my first season in formula racing, to take up the challenge and learn as much as possible. I want to thank my parents and sponsors for making this happen, and will try my best to have the best results possible.”
KCMG Deputy Managing Director John O’Hara believes that the team will produce strong results with the driver line-up that KCMG has for Formula Masters this season. “I’m pleased to have Ronald join us in the team and I believe him and Akash will provide us with the best possible chance of realising our ambitions for the coming season. Ronald displayed proficiency during our testing in Sepang and I’m looking forward to him competing in his first event in May.”
