Furthermore, KCMG will return to France for the 82nd edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
De Busser’s expertise is highlighted by his success as Engineer and Team Manager, leading teams to podiums and victories in various single-seater championships namely Asian Formula Renault, Toyota Racing Series and Formula Renault 2.0. The Belgian has also worked as a Technical Team Manager in Auto GP and as Technical Director in the GP2 Series last season.
KCMG has worked closely with De Busser who assisted the international motorsport group in its racing campaigns in Asia. He was part of KCMG’s technical team in China Touring Car Championship and was Cebu Pacific Air by KCMG’s support Race Engineer in Formula Masters China Series in 2013.
Together with KCMG’s Managing Director Paul Ip, De Busser will help lead the team in the FIA World Endurance Championship and its second assault on the French endurance classic, 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Maarten De Busser, KCMG WEC Team Manager: “I know Paul Ip and the people behind KCMG since the very beginning of my work in Asia and we always have had close contact. In the past years I have assisted KCMG on several occasions in different series in Asia and always have been impressed by the KCMG approach and philosophy in motorsport. Therefore when the question came to be part of the 2014 team for the FIA World Endurance Championship and the legendary Le Mans 24 Hours, the answer was rather easy. Although we are a young team, we have an excellent group of people, all experts in their fields, and we’ll be working with the most renowned partners during this season, so I’m confident we can achieve good results.”
Paul Ip, KCMG Managing Director: “The WEC campaign is one of KCMG’s greatest milestones so far. Our previous outings in Silverstone, Le Mans and Fuji have been most fulfilling and we are happy to welcome Maarten as he takes part in this endeavor with us. Together with Nissan and our new partner, Oreca, we are looking forward to the start of the season in April and we’d like to sincerely thank everyone who has supported us along the way.”
