Cebu Pacific Air by KCMG heads to China this week for the opening round of Formula Masters China Series at Zhuhai International Circuit. The Hong Kong-based team is set to field three cars, with James Munro, Matthew Swanepoel and Dan Wells, in the second season of the Asian junior formula series.
Comprised of three races, the championship’s first event will be held from May 9 -11. Eighteen cars will line up on Formula Masters grid and will battle it out on Zhuhai’s 4.319km circuit. Reinforced by a strong driver line up, Cebu Pacific Air by KCMG is once again primed to challenge for victories in the Asian series.
James Munro, Cebu Pacific Air by KCMG Driver: “It’s been tough waiting for the first round of the championship as I’ve been eager to get back in the car again! My preparation has gone well and I‘m ready to fight at the front of the field. I tested at Zhuhai a few months ago so I’m already familiar with the track. The competition will be tough so there should be some exciting battles this weekend.”
Matthew Swanepoel, Cebu Pacific Air by KCMG Driver: “There’s been a lot of hard work put into making sure that I am fully prepared for the new challenge that lies ahead. I am confident that this will be a successful season and I am set to fight for the championship.”
Dan Wells, Cebu Pacific Air by KCMG Driver: “I’m happy to be back in the CTPS-sponsored KCMG car this week. It’s been 6 months since I last competed in Formula Masters and I’m looking forward to getting down to work. Bring on the weekend!”
