KC Motorgroup Ltd (KCMG) is ready to participate in the 82nd edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans this weekend after meeting the traditional administrative checks as well as organized Weighing Republic Square Monday (June 9).
The new Oreca-Nissan LMP2 03R # 47 of the Chinese team has passed the regulatory technical inspection. After subject to official controls, the crew of Richard Bradley, Matt Howson and Alexandre Imperatori received the green light from the Automobile Club de l’Ouest (ACO) for the start of the legendary endurance race French will take place Saturday and Sunday (14/15 June).
Weighing ceremony took place the last two days in the heart of the city of Le Mans: a popular event that takes place upstream of the race, during which cars are examined from every angle. All drivers must also meet the Administrative Checks for the right to officially participate in the twice around the clock Le Mans.
Considered the greatest endurance race in the world, the 24 Hours of Le Mans is the highlight of the 2014 season for “Motor Sport” of KCMG department. There are two weeks the new blue and white Oreca made promising first tests during the official test day. The Chinese team is now poised and seeks victory in the LMP2 class, just one year after becoming the first native structure of the Middle Kingdom to run in the Sarthe.
Following the program of the week KCMG is particularly rich. Free practice and the first qualifying session will take place on Wednesday (11 June) in the evening; the second and third sessions of qualifying will take place the following day they (Thursday 12 June) in the afternoon and in the dark. Then comes the famous and traditional Parade of pilots, which circulate in the streets of the city center of Le Mans Friday (June 13). The start of the 82nd edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans will be on Saturday (June 14) at 15 pm local time, and the checkered flag will be presented the next day at the same time.
Richard Bradley : “After the official test day where we had some productive test, I am confident about our chances of a good result this weekend. I sincerely believe that we have the team and the car to shine and impose on us. Of course, anything can happen in 24 hours, but KCMG is perfectly prepared. I will make my debut at Le Mans and I greatly look forward to it. So far, the experience has been amazing and I’m really looking forward to getting in the car to roll again on this legendary circuit. “
Matt Howson : “The first tests were very encouraging and the combination Oreca-Dunlop has already performed better than last year. That said, and this is often the case with the test day, these trials have raised more questions than it provided answers! By accumulating running time, we can fine tune the car for the 24 Hours, and establish a precise plan of attack for qualifying. Thus, we will have all the necessary information before the start of the race. So far, the team demonstrated optimism! “
Alexandre Imperatori : “After the first rounds of official wheels last week, the team knows it has an inherently high-performance car. It is now slightly adjust the settings to further improve what we are currently doing. Following our test program, we should find the outposts. Yesterday, we went to weighing, an event that really launched the week of competition. So far, the mood has proved amazing! The whole team is really looking forward to the start of the race, and, on a more personal level, I am looking forward to the track! “
