After more than a month’s hiatus, Cebu Pacific Air by KCMG returns to action, as Formula Masters China Series’ third event takes place at Inje Speedium from July 18-20.
Following five successive wins in the Asian junior formula series, the team currently leads the team and driver championship standings. The Hong Kong-based squad is braced for the 4-race event that will put James Munro, Matthew Swanepoel and Dan Wells’ prowess behind the VW-powered Tatuus FA010 to the test.
It will be Munro, Swanepoel and Wells’ first time to tackle Inje Speedium’s undulating configuration, which runs the length of 4.207km and features 20 turns. The team is primed to extend their advantage over the rest of the field in Rounds 7-9 and the rescheduled Race 3 in South Korea.
James Munro: “It has been a decent break but I’m looking forward to getting back into racing. This weekend I’ll continue to look for race wins and to extend my championship lead. Inje is another new track for me, but I think we should be able to get another strong result.”
Matthew Swanepoel: “I’ve had a good break since Shanghai and I’m really looking forward to getting back in the car, especially with the challenges that Inje has to offer.”
Dan Wells: “I am looking forward to getting down to business in Inje. It is a track that I’ve been looking forward to race on. Its undulating layout makes it more challenging and fun to drive. I can’t wait to get out there! I will also be running with Bitcoin logos on my car and helmet for the first time in coordination with my recent news of becoming the first ever driver backed by Bitcoin.”
John O’Hara, KCMG Deputy Managing Director: “We come to Inje with expectations of continuing our strong run in the championship. The circuit is a new challenge for our drivers but I’m confident that we will deliver good results throughout the race weekend.”
