As the thrilling season of Formula Masters China Series draws to a close, Cebu Pacific Air by KCMG is aiming to clinch the championship crown in the Asian series’ title deciding event from October 17-19. The Hong Kong-based squad will have a three-car line up in Formula Masters season finale, which will be held as part of the Sports Car Champions Festival at Shanghai International Circuit.
Represented by James Munro, Dan Wells and Ryuji Kumita, Cebu Pacific Air by KCMG heads to Formula Masters’ final event leading the Team Classification by 52 points. With seven race wins under his belt, Munro maintains the top spot in the Driver rankings and is set to challenge for the championship title over what will be three closely contested rounds of racing this weekend.
Following his maiden victory in Zhuhai last month, Wells currently sits third in the Drivers Classification with 137 points. With 55 points on offer this weekend, the British driver still has an outside chance of grabbing the championship title. As Cebu Pacific Air by KCMG takes on Formula Masters closing races with two top drivers on the grid, the team is geared towards wrapping up a victorious season in Shanghai.
James Munro: “I’m really looking forward to the challenge that this weekend is set to provide. The championship battle is tight after a couple of tough rounds that we had, but it only makes the final races more exciting. I’m confident that I will be back to my best this weekend, and the team has worked very hard behind the scenes to make sure I have everything I need to secure the title.”
Dan Wells: “I really enjoy driving the Shanghai International Circuit, especially the first sector which has the infamous long and winding Turn 1. It will be an exciting event, so I am looking forward to the final three rounds of the championship this weekend.”
Ryuji Kumita: “I am very much looking forward to my first race weekend in Formula Masters with KCMG. It will also be my first time to compete in Shanghai’s F1 circuit so this will definitely be a new challenge for me.”
John O’Hara, KCMG Deputy Managing Director: “We are down to the final three races of the season and the battle for the title is tight. We’re confident of a strong showing from James, Dan and Ryuji as all three are determined to secure victory this weekend. The team has worked very hard throughout the year and we’re looking forward to cap off the season with the championship crown.”
