KC Motorgroup Ltd. (KCMG) will cap off the year by taking part in Super Formula’s two-day post-season test on December 10-11 at Okayama International Circuit. In line with this, KCMG is pleased to announce that Tsugio Matsuda will represent the Hong Kong-based outfit in the year-end testing of Japan’s top-level single-seater racing series.
Only drivers who did not compete in the championship this year are allowed to take part in Super Formula’s post-season action. The two-day test will witness the Japanese ace sample and gauge the power of the Toyota-powered Dallara SF14 on Okayama’s 3.7km track. The results yielded from the test will primarily provide KCMG valuable data for its Super Formula campaign in 2015.
The current Super GT500 and two-time Formula Nippon champion is primed to be back in one of the most powerful single-seaters after his year-long hiatus from Formula racing. After leading KCMG to their first WEC LMP2 victory at the Circuit of The Americas with Richard Bradley and Matt Howson in September, Matsuda is looking forward to once again working with the team in Japan.
Tsugio Matsuda: “I’m looking forward to driving a Super Formula car and to work once again with KCMG. It’s been awhile since I’ve driven this powerful machine and I’m keen to deliver relevant data that will help the team in their efforts to succeed next season.”
Ryuji Doi, KCMG Japan General Manager: “It is a great pleasure to have Tsugio represent the team in Super Formula’s post season test next week. We are looking to produce significant results at Okayama, which will be vital for our 2015 campaign. To have such a skillful driver help us achieve this will be truly advantageous.”
