Further reinforcing their line up for 2015, Cebu Pacific Air by KCMG has confirmed that Martin Rump will race with the team in the upcoming season of Formula Masters China Series. The Estonian driver, who made his single seater debut in 2013, will run Cebu Pacific Air by KCMG’s third Volkswagen-powered Tatuus car alongside Zheng Shang Guan and Jeffrey Ye.
The 19-year-old driver has competed in Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup and Toyota Racing Series New Zealand. Rump has secured an impressive number of podiums and wins in TRS and FR 1.6 and notably, received the Performance Young Driver Award for his efforts in 2013. Aiming to maintain their success from last year, the Hong Kong-based squad is confident that Rump’s experience will contribute to their Formula Masters programme this season.
Martin Rump: “I’m grateful for the opportunity KCMG have provided me with. It is in fact the first time for me to race in Asia and I feel very excited about it. I can’t wait to start next week in Kuala Lumpur! I’m looking forward to driving the Volkswagen-powered car and I’m eager to have an effective cooperation with the team in order to get the maximum out of it.”
John O’Hara, KCMG Deputy Managing Director: “Martin is a valuable addition to the team and we’re looking forward to a strong season with him. Formula Masters will be a new challenge for him, but we are confident that he will deliver good results for the team.”
