KC Motorgroup Ltd. (KCMG) looks ahead to another hectic weekend as Super Formula and All-Japan Formula Three Championship’s forthcoming rounds get underway at Okayama International Circuit on May 23-24. As two of Japan’s most followed formula series’ action-packed events unfold at the arduous 3.7km track, KCMG’s Yuichi Nakayama and Struan Moore are primed to conclude the weekend with top results.
Yuichi Nakayama is eager to get back in his blue and white Toyota-powered Dallara SF14 after a month’s hiatus from Japan’s leading single seater series. The Japanese driver is set to tackle another grueling test on Okayama’s highly technical circuit in the powerful SF machinery against nineteen of the best drivers in the region.
Reinforced by the competitive pace that Struan Moore has been constantly displaying in his Toyota-engined Dallara F312, the British driver is determined to score his first JF3 podium at Okayama this weekend. Moore’s impressive performance during Friday’s first and second free practice sessions resulted in a sixth place finish, with only a three-tenths gap from P1.
Yuichi Nakayama: “I’m looking forward to a productive weekend and to secure strong results for the team at Okayama. We’ve made progress and collected valuable data during the season opener, which will enable us to finish strong this weekend. These factors give me ample confidence as we head to the series’ second race on Sunday.”
Struan Moore: “I’m really looking forward to this weekend at Okayama. We went well here at the first test and today I was P6 in practice but only 3 tenths from pole and quickest in sector 2. It looks as though we’ve made another step up and a significant one at that today. Hopefully we can find some more time tomorrow and be right at the front.”
Ryuji Doi, KCMG Japan General Manager: “Both Yuichi and Struan have been working hard to prepare for their respective Okayama outings and the team is confident that both of them will score more than just championship points over the weekend. They have shown much progress since the season started and the team is looking forward to a successful race weekend in Super Formula and JF3 at Okayama.”
