The second event of Formula Masters China Series takes Cebu Pacific Air by KCMG to China’s renowned Formula 1 track this weekend. The three-race challenge at Shanghai International Circuit on June 6 – 7 will witness Martin Rump, Nicholas Rowe and Star Racing Academy duo Sean Zheng and Jeffrey Ye challenge for valuable championship points in the highly-competitive Asian entry-level Formula series.
Cebu Pacific Air by KCMG is poised for another action-packed weekend following the successful outing that the team enjoyed at Sepang International Circuit in April. After a month’s hiatus from the Asian single seater series, Rump, Rowe, Zheng and Ye are geared for the forthcoming on-track battles against up and coming drivers from across the region. Formula Masters’ Shanghai event will comprise of two qualifying sessions on Friday, followed by three rounds, which will be held on Saturday and Sunday.
Nicholas Rowe: “We’re off to Shanghai for the second round of Formula Masters and I’m looking forward to get back in the car. We had mixed results at Sepang and now that we’ve gathered enough data from that outing, I’ve gained more understanding of the car. I’m keen to give my 100% at Shanghai and hopefully, if all goes well, the team and myself can have a very successful weekend!”
Martin Rump: “It’s a great feeling to be back for the second round of Formula Masters at Shanghai. We head to this event feeling confident and ready to challenge for victory. It’s crucial to get everything race-ready, but since we are now familiar with the car, it makes things easier for the team and myself. Shanghai is another Formula 1- class circuit so I’m very excited. Same goes for the fact that it’s my first time in China. See you there!”
Jeffrey Ye: “I’m very glad to come to Shanghai’s F1 circuit for the second event of Formulas Masters. My objective is to deliver positive results throughout the weekend and qualify for the best position on the grid for the three races. I’m looking forward to learn more from this race weekend and score championships points for myself and the team.”
Sean Zheng: “I’m looking forward to this race since it is to be held on one of my most favourite Formula circuits. I’ve been working hard during the month-long break in preparation for this event. My performance during the Sepang event highlighted the areas where I had to work on and improve. I’m very eager to be back in car and do my best to consistently deliver strong results.”
John O’ Hara, KCMG Deputy Managing Director: “The entire team looks ahead to this race weekend with confidence after the promising results that we’ve produced at Sepang in April. Shanghai will be another new challenge for Martin, Nicholas, Jeffrey and Sean, but the month-long interval from the series has provided the drivers ample time to prepare.”
