Following a strong outing at Shanghai International Circuit, Cebu Pacific Air by KCMG wrapped up a triumphant season in Formula Masters China Series after claiming the 2015 Team Trophy, Drivers championship title and Top Chinese driver award. After six thrilling events around Asia, the Hong Kong- based team concluded the 2015 season of hotly contested Formula series with 23 podiums including ten race wins.

The Asian Formula series’ final triple-header, which was held as part of the Shanghai Sports Car Festival, witnessed the Estonian champion, along with team mates Nicholas Rowe, Star Racing Academy drivers Jeffrey Ye, Sean Zheng and Yuan Bo, wrap up the weekend with positive results. Rump and Rowe’s strong season paved way for Cebu Pacific Air by KCMG to be the top team in the Asian series for the second straight year.

While Rump sealed the championship title in Zhuhai last month, Rowe wrapped up third place in the overall Drivers Classification in the final event of the season. Star Racing Academy graduate Yuan Bo won the FMCS Best Chinese Driver Trophy for the second time, with his strong performance at the Shanghai finale, allowing him to overtake rival and fellow SRA driver Jeffrey Ye in the trophy standings. Meanwhile, Sean Zheng concluded the season as the Top 3 Chinese driver.

Martin Rump: “The whole season has just been marvellous. FMCS has really developed me as a driver and given me confidence for the next years to come. I think this year has improved my skills a lot. Most of all, I’d like to thank KCMG for the great year! We had an epic season and everyone in the team did an excellent job.”

Nicholas Rowe: “What a year it was! Firstly, a big congratulations to the entire team. I learned with every race I competed in and I can’t thank everyone at KCMG enough – they never missed a setup and made my year a fun one. What a great year for all of us! I had a amazing time and I will never forget the moments!”

Jeffrey Ye: “The Formula Masters finale was an exciting event. It was not a perfect weekend but what’s important is we made a lot of progress this year. Thank you to everyone at KCMG and Star Racing Academy. Everyone worked hard to ensure that we won the championship this season.”

Sean Zheng: “I learned more and improved a lot this year. Although I wasn’t able to reach the goal which I aimed for earlier in the season, I’m glad to gain that experience in Formula Masters. Thank you to KCMG and Star Racing Academy.”

Yuan Bo: “I felt I improved throughout the weekend. There was some good fighting throughout the final three races and I’m really happy to come away with a second FMCS Best Chinese Driver Trophy. All season, racing in FMCS has been good training for GT racing and I want to thank my team as well as SRA for a great year.”

John O’Hara, KCMG Deputy Managing Director: “To come away with the Team Trophy, Drivers’ championship title and Top Chinese driver award is a great accomplishment for the team. Our drivers have been great and I want to congratulate them for the fantastic season. I also would like to commend our crew who have worked tirelessly throughout the year and to thank everyone who supported us in this campaign especially our title sponsor, Cebu Pacific Air.”
