After a tough outing in Japan, KC Motorgroup Ltd. (KCMG) is eyeing to regain the LMP2 championship lead as FIA World Endurance Championship’s (WEC) penultimate round kicks into high gear at Shanghai International Circuit on November 1. With renewed confidence, the Le Mans-winning LMP2 outfit is set to take on the World Championship’s forthcoming six-hour challenge on home soil.

The Dunlop-shod ORECA 05 – Nissan coupe will be once again shared by Richard Bradley, Matt Howson and Nick Tandy. Following the incident that KCMG weathered at Fuji, the team is primed to challenge for class victory on Shanghai’s 4.541km F1 circuit this weekend.

The 6 Hours of Shanghai will witness nine LMP2s battle it out for valuable championship points in front of Chinese fans. On-track action will begin with three free practice sessions, followed by Qualifying, which gets underway on Saturday afternoon. The start of the 6 Hours of Shanghai will take place at 11:00 local on Sunday.

Richard Bradley: “I’m looking forward to Shanghai. After the incident at Fuji, we’re going to have an interesting mission to be coming from behind in the points for the first time since Le Mans. We have the driver lineup, the package and team to get back the championship lead and have a successful result.”

Matt Howson: “I enjoy the Shanghai International circuit and after a disappointing early DNF last year we’re all keen to win KCMG’s home event in 2015, and get back lost ground in the championship.”

Nick Tandy: “After Fuji, I’m looking forward to learning another new track. I’m actually very keen to see Shanghai. I’ve never been to China and my teammates tell me that the city is really impressive.”

Erich Kolb, KCMG WEC Team Manager: “The team has done a commendable job preparing the ORECA 05 in time for the Shanghai round. We are ready and heading to this weekend’s race with renewed confidence and a solid goal to once again finish on top of the podium.”
