The 2015 season of FIA F4 Japanese Championship wrapped up with two hotly-contested rounds at Twin Ring Motegi over the weekend. KC Motorgroup Ltd. (KCMG) concluded the event on a high note as Yuki Nemoto clinched his first pole position and a double podium in the highly competitive junior Formula series’ thrilling finale.

Held in wet conditions, Saturday’s qualifying sessions witnessed Nemoto grab pole position for the championship’s penultimate round, and later on secured a P2 start for the final race. The Japanese driver was off to a good start in the opening lap of Round 13, but lost the lead to the #11 car of Makino Tsutomuyu. Nevertheless, Nemoto maintained 2nd position until the end of the race gaining KCMG its first podium of the year.

As Race 2 ensued in the wet, Nemoto once again started from the front row and was consistently posting impressive lap times. After a ten-lap battle on Motegi’s 4.8km road course, the Japanese driver had to settle for a third place finish in Sunday morning’s race. Despite failing to grab that elusive victory, the team is pleased to come away with a double podium in the Japanese championship’s season ender.

Yuki Nemoto: “The season was full of new learning and we’ve progressed significantly in the championship. I’m very happy to end the season with two podiums and a pole position at Motegi! The entire team worked hard to garner these results and I’d like to thank Ryuji Doi and Paul Ip for this opportunity. Also, thank you to all my sponsors for supporting me this season. It has been a great year and I look forward to be working again with KCMG in the near future.”

Ryuji Doi, KCMG Head of Motorsport: “The pole and double podium by Yuki was a great way to wrap up our F4 campaign in 2015, and I’d like to commend everyone’s hard work throughout the season. It was a pleasure working with Yuki this year and his progress has been very impressive. On behalf of the team, we’d like to thank everyone who have been part of our 2015 campaign in the FIA F4 Japanese Championship!”
