Cebu Pacific Air by KCMG has set its sights on victory as the team heads to Malaysia’s renowned F1 circuit for the Formula Masters China Series’ Winter GP.
Ireland’s Dan Polley, South Korea’s Kim Jeong Tae and Australian, Thomas Maxwell will represent the team in their quest to continue KCMG’s strong run on Sepang’s 5.543 km track.
The event will support the Asian Le Mans Series with 3 races run over the course of the weekend to decide the Winter GP champion. While its Polley’s first time to sample the Formula Masters car, he has Sepang experience in LMP2 from Asian Le Mans in 2014 and the Irish Formula Vee race winner is confident for the weekend ahead. Maxwell and Kim have both had successful FMCS tests in Sepang in recent months.
Dan Polley: I’m excited to get the opportunity to race on such an amazing circuit again. It’ll be my first time in a Formula Masters car but I expect to learn quickly and am confident of a strong result.
Kim Jeong Tae: I’m happy to race with KCMG in the FMCS Winter GP, we had a strong test earlier this month and I’m aiming for podium finishes in Sepang this weekend.
Thomas Maxwell: Super excited to be able to compete in such a highly regarded category with one of the most professionally run teams. It will be a great gauge to see how I stack up against the competition and how I can further adapt and refine my driving technique to suit these cars. I am confident of strong results and will be pushing hard from the word go.
John O’Hara, KCMG FMCS Team Manager: “Its our aim to maintain the strong form we had throughout 2015 and conclude the Winter GP with more wins. With Dan, Kim ad Thomas, I believe we have the drivers to continue that form.
