KCMG has confirmed Malaysian driver Akash Nandy to race alongside Dan Wells in the second event of Formula Pilota China at Ordos International Circuit.
The 15 year old driver, who recently competed in the JK Racing Asia Series, began racing karts in 2008. After a successful career in karting, Nandy moved on to single seater cars and finished 3rd in the JK Asia Series Rookie Cup last year.
Nandy will represent KCMG with British driver Dan Wells in Formula Pilota’s second event at Ordos International Circuit on July 6 and 7. It will be Nandy’s first time to drive a Tatuus Formula Abarth FA010 car powered by a 1400cc turbo engine by Fiat in the highly competitive Asian series.
Nandy states, “I am very much looking forward to racing in Formula Pilota’s upcoming event. Although it will be my first time to drive the car, I’ve been very competitive in the JK Racing Asia Series and I’m confident that I can be fighting at the front in my Formula Pilota debut. The team has proven its potential and I am positive that I can challenge for podium positions.”
KCMG Managing Director Paul Ip has expressed his delight to have the talented young driver represent the team in Formula Pilota’s Ordos event. He was quoted,“We are very pleased to have Akash on board. The team is looking forward to working with him. He has proved that he is a competitive driver and we expect him to be fighting towards the front.“
