KC Motorgroup Ltd. (KCMG) is pleased to announce that Malaysian ace Akash Nandy will rejoin the Hong Kong-based squad as they set off for Audi R8 LMS Cup’s third event at Sepang International Circuit on August 13 – 14. Nandy will join 2015 Audi Sport TT Cup Champion Jan Kisiel to represent KCMG’s two-car effort in the Asian sprint race series of the brand with Four Rings on his home track.
Nandy has raced full time for KCMG in the 2013 season of Formula Masters China Series and went on to claim a dominant victory in the FMCS Macau Grand Prix Challenge the same year. The Malaysian pilot, who now competes in the GP2 Series with Jenzer Motorsport, also won in the 2013 Asian Le Mans Series’ 3 Hours of Inje in KCMG’s Morgan-Nissan LMP2.
After sealing his first Audi R8 LMS Cup podium in Thailand last month, Jan Kisiel is primed for Rounds 5 and 6 of the Asian championship. This will be the Polish drivers’ maiden race at Malaysia’s highly technical 5.543km F1 track. In addition to the #29 and #43 entries, KCMG will service the #18 Champion Racing Team car of Martin Rump, who also enjoyed a successful weekend in Thailand after scoring his second victory in the LMS Cup.
Akash Nandy: “I’m really happy that I have been given this opportunity to try something new and especially with a team that I only have good memories with. It’s also great to coming back to my home track after spending most of the year racing in Europe so I intend to make the most of it”
Jan Kisiel: “”I spent the last days learning the Sepang circuit so that I can hit the ground running once I get to Malaysia. It’s a pretty tough and rather technical circuit but our strong race pace in Thailand gives me reason to be confident ahead of the upcoming rounds. I am ready to take the fight to my rivals and score good points in the process”
