KC Motorgroup Ltd. (KCMG) is looking forward to be back in the scenic island of Kyushu as Super Formula returns to Autopolis International Circuit for the series’ fifth event this weekend (9-10 September). This time the Hong Kong-based outfit is determined to score their maiden pole and victory in Japanese formula racing’s most competitive grid with racing hero Kamui Kobayashi in the #18 Toyota-powered KCMG Elyse SF14.
It is the first time since 2015 that a Super Formula race will take place at Autopolis due to the damage suffered from the Kumamoto earthquake in April 2016. Kobayashi and the entire KCMG crew are excited to once again race on the undulating 4.674km circuit and provide fans and spectators with a thrilling race.
Kamui Kobayashi: “I’m very much looking forward to this event as it marks Super Formula’s much anticipated return to Autopolis after that unfortunate incident at Kumamoto Prefecture last year. Super Formula have always worked to help strengthen Japan’s enduring racing culture and we are all very happy to return and race here to entertain our fans.”
“Last month’s outing in Motegi helped the team recognize areas where we still needed improvement and everyone has doubled their efforts to make sure that we’ll come back stronger this weekend. With hard work and renewed optimism, hopefully we’ll finally nail victory at Autopolis!”
