KC Motorgroup Ltd. (KCMG) together with reigning double TCR Germany champion Josh Files will take to the Circuit Paul Ricard in Le Castellet, France for the first round of the 7-event TCR Europe championship on 5-6 May.
Files, who became JAS Motorsport’s official test driver for the development of the new FK8 Honda Civic Type R TCR car over the winter, is ready to contest the series in the new Honda Civic with KCMG. The Hong Kong-based outfit is looking to make an impact in Europe with Files chosen to take up this new challenge.
The car’s livery takes on board title sponsor HELL Energy drinks, with the team name known officially as HELL ENERGY Racing by KCMG.
Josh Files: “Its been a very long winter, but all the tools are in place for the job. I have the support of KCMG and JAS Motorsport, who are the constructor of the new Honda Civis Type R TCR car that I will drive this year. In my new role of official test driver, I’ve had plenty of mileage developing the new car so we go to Paul Ricard with high hopes of strong results this weekend.”
TCR Europe series consists of two free practice sessions on Friday, with Qualifying and Race 1 taking pace on Saturday, followed by Race 2 on Sunday. Both races are broadcast live on motorsport.tv channel as well as local TV and a live stream online.
