HELL ENERGY Racing with KCMG was at Circuit Zandvoort over the weekend (19-21 May) for TCR Europe‘s second event.
Josh Files (#99) and Attila Tassi (#9) in their JAS Motorsport-built Honda Civic Type R TCRs completed the Free Practice sessions on Friday with varied results. Files wrapped up the practice runs in P10 and P9; and Tassi in P13 and P3.
The team enjoyed positive qualifying runs on Saturday. Attila Tassi wrapped up the two-round session in P3 with a best lap of 1:45.387, and Josh Files in P7 with 1:45.635.
Sunday’s race witnessed HELL ENERGY Racing with KCMG score their first TCR Europe podium by Tassi, after the Hungarian driver rounded off Race 1 with a top two finish! Files was not far behind and finished fourth after battling for podium spot throughout the 12-lap race.
Race 2 yielded the team its first victory after Files crossed the finish line ahead of the pack. The British driver started P4, grabbed the lead at the first corner with an epic start and controlled the race throughout.
Meanwhile, Tassi scored his second podium this weekend with P3 after a dramatic race. Tassi finished in P4 but post race penalties of his opponent (due to contact with the Hungarian driver) moved him up to Top 3.
HELL ENERGY Racing with KCMG took over the lead of TCR Europe Teams’ Championship while Files and Tassi lie P3 and P4 in the Drivers’ Championship.
