carrozzeria Team KCMG has confirmed that Yuichi Nakayama will be back on Super Formula’s grid for the Japanese formula series’ fifth round at Twin Ring Motegi on 17-19 August. Nakayama will stand-in for Kamui Kobayashi as the latter heads to SIlverstone for his LMP1 duties with Toyota Gazoo Racing in the FIA World Endurance Championship.
Yuichi Nakayama has raced for KCMG in Super Formula from 2014-2016 and also represented the Hong Kong-based outfit in Audi R8 LMS Cup’s Shanghai round in 2016. This year, the Japanese driver emerged victorious in the 2018 ADAC Zurich 24H Nürburgring Race in the SP –Pro Class with Toyota Gazoo Racing and is also a Super GT300 race winner, driving the Lexus RC F GT3 with K-Tunes Racing LM Corsa.
