SGC by KCMG aiming for victory in Motegi

Following a strong race in Fuji, SGC by KCMG travels with confidence to Motegi for Rounds 7 and 8 of Japanese Formula 3 on August 4-5. After Gary Thompson and Matt Howson’s significant maiden podiums, the team is positive that both drivers will find enough pace early in the weekend and make the most of the Toyota Dallara’s potential in Twin Ring Motegi’s 4.8km road course circuit.

With the results gathered at last month’s event, both drivers are looking forward to another intense competition where the goal is to finish at the front and to be on top of the podium. The circuit which features 14 turns, running in a counter-clockwise direction will test each driver’s skill and endurance.
As it stands, SGC by KCMG continuously works on further improving their cars and is focused on bringing about a victorious weekend for both Thompson and Howson. KCMG Japan General Manager Ruyji Doi was quoted, “We are happy with the progress that we’ve been making as we advance further into the season. However, this does not stop us from finding more ways to improve the cars and help Gary and Matt to stay on top of their game. Our main objective is to win the 2012 championship and be the best team running in the National class. Motegi gives us another opportunity to get ahead with more points.”

Gary Thompson: “We are looking forward to the weekend. We hope that we have made some progress since Fuji and we’ve all been working very hard to try to insure that we are challenging for a podium or win this weekend.”

Matt Howson: “Myself and the team can come into Motegi feeling much more confident after a second place last time out in Fuji. We are effectively still testing during racing, and Fuji was a good step forward with the car. I expect us to be faster this time at Motegi and I know the circuit, so my expectations are for being back on the podium, and nothing less will do!”
