KC Motorgroup Ltd. (KCMG) looks to build on its positive first outing with the Porsche 911 GT3 R during round four of the Nürburgring Endurance Series (NLS, previously VLN) this weekend.
The Hong Kong squad competed with the storied German manufacturer at the Nordschleife for the first time during the NLS 2/3 double header earlier this month, finishing as the highest-placing Porsche in Sunday’s race.
Onboard the #18 machine, double Le Mans 24 Hours winner Romain Dumas and reigning Intercontinental GT Challenge champion Dennis Olsen will race alongside the experienced six-time Nürburgring 24 Hours competitor Alexandre Imperatori, who drove the sister car during the previous race weekend.
Olsen will also be co-driver to Australian Josh Burdon and Italian Edoardo Liberati in the #19 Porsche, undertaking additional testing duties as the team prepares for the 24 Hours in September.
The 90-minute qualifying session gets underway at 08:30 CET on Saturday 1 August, with lights out for the four-hour race at noon.
Romain Dumas, #18 Porsche 911 GT3 R: “I’m very happy to be back with KCMG and I’m sure we will continue to prepare well for the 24 Hours. It’s always a pleasure to drive at the Nordschleife and I think it will be a great weekend.”
Alexandre Imperatori, #18 Porsche 911 GT3 R: “We’re back at the Nürburgring to continue our preparations for the 24 Hours. We learnt a lot from our first weekend and the team has worked very hard since then. We have multiple improvements that we aim to validate and hopefully bring added performance.”
Dennis Olsen, #18 and #19 Porsche 911 GT3 R: “This weekend we hope to take everything we learnt in our first weekend and improve on it. We can’t wait to start pushing the Porsche 911 GT3 R to the limit and see what we can do.”
Josh Burdon, #19 Porsche 911 GT3 R: “I’m really excited to return to the Nordschleife for NLS 4. After the double-header return to racing a couple of weeks ago, I feel that as a team we are well prepared to hit the ground running and make some positive gains. I’m looking forward to getting back on track.”
Edoardo Liberati, #19 Porsche 911 GT3 R: “I cannot wait to be behind the wheel of our Porsche 911 GT3 R again for NLS 4. We feel confident as we had time to analyse everything after our first weekend, and we believe we can be even stronger and more prepared for this round. KCMG showed great potential during its first outing with Porsche, so things can only get better.”
Paul Ip, KCMG Founder: “Our first weekend with Porsche at the Nordschleife was a really positive one and we cannot wait to get back out there and race. Both squads are feeling confident and we are delighted with the progress we have made so far. Our hope is now to build on what we achieved and continue to prove ourselves as one of the most competitive Porsche outfits.”
